FULTON COUNTY, NY — Now listen… folks expect snow, cold, and maybe a mailbox or two getting whacked during a storm — but bullets? That’s where most people get lost.
According to New York State Police, troopers and Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out around 9:37 p.m. Sunday to a home along Route 309 just outside Gloversville after reports of shots fired.
Police allege that a 68-year-old man, identified as Daniel R. Hoose, fired multiple rounds from a second-story window at a snowplow driver following some kind of heated argument. What the argument was exactly? Well… that part’s still about as clear as slush water in a boot.
Authorities say no injuries were reported, and thankfully nobody was hit. Still, firing a gun during a snowstorm over an argument isn’t exactly what most folks call “neighborly.”
Hoose was arrested and charged with:
-
Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Weapon)
-
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree (Intent to Use)
-
Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree
Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Hoose was released on an appearance ticket and is expected to answer to the charges in court at a later date.
At this time, State Police have released no additional details about what sparked the argument or what led things to escalate so badly. And honestly, a lot of folks around here are still asking the same question:
“How in the world did plowing snow turn into this?”
As always, TVOTT Hillbilly News will keep digging once more information becomes available — because when snowstorms start coming with police lights, something clearly ain’t right.
